cowboy in the making

i have a boyfriend, and he is what one would call a city boy. but, i can proudly say he is coming around quite well in the horse world. we picked a bad time to introduce him to the horses because it was in the dead of winter; so you can only imagine all the loads of fun you can have in a foot of snow and 40 below weather. i was sad because i knew that he didn't really like being out there and i didn't see him getting any more enthused about it when the weather got nicer. every time i asked him to go out there he would say no or i had to drag him out. but finally i made him feel bad enough about it that he decided to give them another shot and go out there with an open mind.

at first, like all beginner riders, it was pretty painful to watch. no offense alan really you didn't do any worse than anybody else we've taken out there. in fact, you actually did quite a bit better than a lot of the people we have taken out. our latest project h , if not he is getting extremely close. and best of all, i think he truly enjoys being out there and riding. now, we have even mastered the trails and going real fast! it's fun and i'm really happy to have an awesome riding partner for the summer. i don't like riding alone all the time and it's really fun when alan comes out with me. he's catching on quick and i'm really looking forward to this summer.

mowing

ok so today i was mowing, very interesting i know, and i caught my mind powers acting out again without my permission. now by this point you're probably thinking, "wow, this chick is a nerd" and you are correct. then again, if you are actually reading this and you're not my teacher or one of my friends, that makes you a pretty big nerd as well. while i'm straying ridiculously off task i have a question for a certain ap lang teacher that just might be grading this right now, do you actually read all of our blogs? or, do just sort if skim them and trust that we did the right thing? i'm very curious about what exactly you do with these things.

anyways, so today i mowed the lawn and something kind of dumb happened but i figured why no blog about it anyways. you see every week i now get the joys of mowing our lawn, which used to be my brother's job but i guess my mom decided that i need more money and i'm lazy. dont get the wrong idea, i do have a job but apparently that's not enough any more. and maybe it's not, i do have a car that i would like to get payed off before college and lets face it, gas prices are killing all of us poor souls who have to pay for it. plus i dont really mind mowing so much, it only takes about 40 minutes and it's good exercise i guess.

well, any other day i wouldn't have minded mowing but i had other things i wanted to do today, like riding horsies! of course i had to hang out with my sweet as well. he was already over at my house so he jumped on the trampoline while i mowed the back yard. by the time i was about 2/3 done with it i had had enough and just wanted to be done. and then, like a miracle the front wheel just popped off. it was at the same time my dad came into the back yard to pick up dog poop. i tell him it's broken and luckily for me he couldn't fix it that day. so me and alan got to leave and i didn't have to finish the yard, i liked it.

titleless

that right there is a horsie i want pretty bad. it's my favorite kind, the fresian and i love it. too bad they cost like a bagillion dollars and its almost impossible to get one if you're just another average joe. they are always black (my favorite color for a horse) and they have really long manes and tails, pretty! but my favorite thing about a fresian is their feathers. feathers on a horse is obviously not the same thing as feathers on a bird. what they are is really long hair that goes over their hooves. i tried to get a picture that showed it better but i couldn't find a really good one. they have got to be one of the most beautiful creatures i have ever seen in my life. they have their own special gate and when they do it it looks like they are practically floating. click here to check it out. they only show the gate right at the end but there's some other stuff in there to show off just how smart this horse is. they are quite the magnificent creature, one of the most graceful animals you will ever see. if you ever get a chance to see them up close i suggest you take because it's really cool. i hope some day i will be lucky enough to get to ride one of these creatures. who knows, maybe if i end up making enough money, i will get to own own one myself, wishful thinking i suppose.

oh yeah, prom

so yesterday was prom, and today i think im dead. got home around 5:30 and my dearly beloved decided to call me this morning around 10. for those of you who don't want to do the math, that's four and a half hours after i got home. one could say i'm a tad bit on the tired side now. i'll take some of the blame i did tell him to call me whenever he wanted. but i figured since he was there with me that maybe he would've slept a little more but i guess not. it's ok though, i don't mind so much because it was Alan but if it would've been anyone else, they'd be dead in my book. if you get to know me, you know very well not to mess with my sleep. it doesn't usually end well unless i really really like you a lot. in other words, unless we're dating for a long time or if your family and it's an emergency, don't call before noon!

anyways, last night was prom and i really had a lot of fun, can't wait to do it again next year. my dress was what i like to call amazing! plus i bought it from somebody privately so there would be no way that somebody else had the same one. it was red (my favorite color) with some fancy beaded stuff going on and yeah, not really sure how to describe it. everybody who saw it said it was really pretty though so i must've done a good job. everybody except for my dad that is, lets just say he might have thought it was a little too pretty for his daughter to be wearing if you know what i mean. and then there was Alan, he looked adorable, that's about all i can say. he had a tux (duh) with a red vest, red tie, and a black under shirt. it matched my dress really well and i gotta say, he looked really handsome. i liked it because i came with him to help pick it out and it's a good thing i did because he sort of needed a little help with it. but together i'd say we did a really good job with it.

for supper we ended up going to vino's which is a little Italian restaurant, and very cute. i really like the atmosphere inside, it was dark, with most of the light coming from candles, and it had a bunch of old books and wine bottles covering the walls. the food was pretty good too; unfortunately we filled up on salad and appetizers so by the time we got our meal we weren't really able to eat much of it. plus it was super expensive for what we got i thought, i don't like spending that much money on food (or my boyfriend spending that much in this case) but since it was prom i guess it was ok.

we started eating late, so we didn't get to the dance until about a half and hour or so after it started. which is fine though because usually nothing really happens in the first half hour anyways. finally we started out to the dance floor and turned into some crazy dancing monkeys. i'm pretty sure we probably looked like a couple of gomers at times but i was with Alan, and that's all that mattered to me is that we had fun. i'm proud of him though, he did a really good job dancing. he doesn't have much experience with it but the boy can move when he wants to it's really cute. a good chunk of our friends left really early so we just sort of scattered about the dance floor dancing with a few different people. i know it sounds totally carny but we had each other there so really we didn't need anyone else anyways. but before you knew it, we were dancing to the last two slow songs of the night and the dance was over.

and then it was off to post prom, now that's a whole other story...

tiop

like my title? pretty much just pushed some keys down and thats what happened. ok... i really need to do a blog entry here but to be honest, i dont think my mind has ever been this blank before. ickkkkkk :-P

rain, i like, well most of the time that is. unless im walking into school and it starts pouring out, thats not very much fun at all. a week ago or so it must have been raing pretty hard early in the morning because when i showed up for zero hour gym my friend Laura was completely soaked. she gets there about fifteen minutes before i do so by the time i showed up it was only sprinkling out a little bet so i didnt have a problem. all i could think about is how much it must've sucked to be laura at that time. well, a couple days or so i found out the answer to that question. that day, i didnt have zero hour but im wishing that i would have. i had to drive about 10mph because it was raining so hard that i couldnt see a thing out of my window. by the time a get parked and out of my car i see to my delightful surprise a river flowing through what used to be the south parking lot. then i thought to myself, well, actually i think it's better i dont type what i was thinking. so anyways i scurry my short legs as fast as i can into school. i dont think it really mattered how fast i walked/ran though because all it took was about three seconds out in the monsoon and i was already completely drenched.

so i get into the cafeteria, sit next to alan and just sort of plop dead. after i recover i decide to whine a little bit and think of my next plan of action. there was no point of going home to change because it was still raining just as hard outside. so i decide to call my partner in crime to come save the day. "Amanda!!! Help! I need pants!" i tell her. so she agrees to bring me some dry clothes when she gets to school. thank the lord i have her or else i would've been one soggy chica the whole day. Eww...

Horsies!!

i can't even begin to describe how happy i am to see that May i finally here. yes, it means school is going to be out soon but more importantly it means that the weather is getting nicer (or so i hope). but you may ask, "Now Megan, why is the weather getting nicer better than knowing that school is out soon?" and to that i would reply, "Duh! because it means that i get to ride horsies all the time now!" I guess one could say that i'm very excited about spring being here and summer well on its way. it has been a very long, very cold, and very crappy winter and god dang it! i'm ready for some horsies!!! i'm going through withdrawals here people!

if you haven't guessed by now, horses are basically my life. if i could, i'd spend every day out there all day long and do nothing but ride horses for the rest of my life. me and my horse out in the middle of nowhere, sounds like heaven to me. i love being out there away from civilization, out there, you've got nothing to worry about. it's like all your problems just disappear leaving only you, your horse, and the open trail ahead. people tend to irritate me, a lot, so it's really nice i don't have to deal with any of them when i'm out with my horses. for the most part, i'd say my horses love me very much and i don't have to worry about them getting mad over nothing and finding the need to argue about me over the stupidest crap ever. they just stand and be quiet, i like it.

overall i would say that horses are my sanctuary. it's the one place where i know i can go and get away from everything. they are my great escape away from all the hassles i have here in town. i'm positive that without them, i'd go completely insane.

Wild Side

i want a tattoo... fo sho. i've wanted one for quite a long time now and about ten or eleven months from now, i will have one. my parents might flip you-know-what but honestly i have no idea how they would react. but, i'll be 18 so i guess they won't really have much of a say in it really. might be grounded or something for quite a while but at this point, who knows? then again there's always the possibility of them being cool with it. i think there is a pretty decent chance that they will be. my dad has a couple tattoos so he can't really bad-mouth it at all and i told my mom i was getting one and she didn't seem to care much. she probably thinks i'm going to change my mind about it sometime before i'm old enough to get one though.

hee, my grandma always said that when each grandkid turned 16 she was going to take them to get a tattoo. the parents didn't approve, but we all thought it was cool. unfortunately she died when i was 15 so i guess i never even got the chance to see what would happen.

as far as what i'm going to get and where, i really don't know. i'm not stupid, i realize that tattoos are a permanent thing that i'm going to have to live with forever so i better like it. i've been thinking about it quite a bit and the one thing i know for sure is that it has to relate to horses somehow. i thought that maybe i want to do something like a horseshoe on my upper back, maybe with a rose wrapped around it, i don't know we will see.

the other day i found out that amanda wants one too which is totally sweet. :) luckily we turn 18 the same month so i told her we HAVE to go get one together. pretty sure her parents are going to disown her, but at least it will be fun... right? i think i want to make sure they think i had nothing to do with it as well because if they found out i was involved, good-bye to us hanging out i think. they already know that i tend to be sort of a bad influence on her so i can only imagine what they would think if they knew i went out and got a tattoo with her. nevertheless, i'm crazy and i like it so i think it's going to stay that way.

;-P

Yup... The Weather

when all else fails, i guess you can always blog about the weather...
so it's finally starting to get nice out, thank the lord, so i get to spend more time out at my horses. i love just being outside and being able to ride my horses comfortably without freezing to death. it also means that school is out soon, or in other words, i completely lose all focus i might have had before. in my defense i do have some help in the whole process.take today for example, here i am innocently trying to type my flippin blog post and i have some spaz sitting next to me doing everything in his power for me not to get it done. but, i shall fight through it and get something 's typed.
what's nice about the weather is that you can finally be outside without a jacket on. meaning, your skin is exposed to the sun and boom! no more looking like Casper. i know a lot of people fake bake, but i think it's a really stupid thing to do. it's not natural, your skin is white, that's the color it's SUPPOSED to be because hey, IT'S WINTER meaning there's not a whole lot of sun exposure, get over it, it's ok.
so there you have it, summer is coming soon! no more school, no more focus, and best of all, no more thinking. just eat, sleep, and ride horsies... woot!

Ponder Conmigo

ok so i had no idea what to blog about so i started googleing random words and in the search titled "juice" i came across this picture. im thinking that's a pretty sweet way to package juice. these particular boxes come from Japan. if you hadn't guessed, it's for banana juice.
now juice just happens to be my word which is why i searched it in the first place. i really like these juice boxes, i think they are quite clever and i also think that we should have them here in America. they should do other fruits like this as well.
if you couldn't tell, i'm at a bit of a loss for blog ideas so hang in here with me i'm trying.
orange juice is also quite tasty and i think it's pretty much going to save my life in the long run. (or at least my bones) this is because i border line hate the taste of milk, so i never drink it. but without milk, there's no sufficient way for my body to get calcium EXCEPT there is this magical orange juice that has just as much calcium as milk. so thank the lord, i still get my calcium. it's quite tasty too... pulp free even.
